Our primary activity is the building of value of long term assets. We do this in partnership with principals who believe Merchants Partners can make a meaningful difference through our strategic, managerial and financial support.

For our China and Asia based partners we provide the ability to access western markets for investment, acquisitions or business establishment.
Mr. Holl has extensive experience in merchant banking. He started his career with Bateman Eichler Hill Richards Inc. of Los Angeles, where in 1986 he co-founded the firm’s first institutional investment management consulting group, culminating in assets under management of $1 Billion by 1989. He later joined Shearson Lehman Brothers as a Senior Vice President. From 1994 Mr. Holl founded several businesses including a software company which built management systems for the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, Sumitomo Bank of California and Bear Stearns Securities Corp correspondents. Other businesses included broker-dealer companies and several technology start-ups.
In 1997 he founded Merchants Partners as a management company and as CEO of Merchants Group International led over $140 million of merchant banking and merger transactions, involving logistics, industrial and digital media companies. Previous experience included positions with Lufthansa AG, Air New Zealand and Jacobs Engineering Group. He has held board positions with private and publicly traded companies. Mr. Holl received a B.A. from Occidental College in Los Angeles, a C.E.P. from the Institute D'Études Politiques de Paris, and an MBA from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at the University of California at Los Angeles.
Mr. Ferguson is Managing Director of Santack Group Ltd. and is founder and CEO of Procore Direct Limited, a Shanghai based commercial trading company which has grown to where today over 7000 products are exported annually to North America and Europe.
Mr. Ferguson has extensive business experience in China since 1992 including past positions with Sun Hung Kai Properties Ltd. where he managed tenant conversion and redevelopment planning of the Hong Kong World Trade Center among other activities. He also managed the marketing and leasing of Shanghai Center for AIG Real Estate / Portman Group.
Mr. Ferguson received his education at Thammasat University in Thailand, National University of Singapore, Beijing Foreign Studies University, University of Alberta, and holds an MBA from Queen’s University in Canada.
Mr. Young has extensive experience in leading global marine transportation, supply chain, automotive logistics and business development teams since 1979. Previous experience at senior executive levels includes CEO of Unicon International and Xcelerated Xpress, Senior Vice President-Logistics for the Williams Sonoma Group, and Senior Vice President-Asia of American President Lines, responsible for 17 countries from Japan to Kuwait.
Additionally, Mr. Young has held the position of Vice President, Marine Operations with APL, where he managed the operations of 23 containerships and dry-bulk vessels. He was the Chief Administrative Officer of the Pasha Group and the president of the Automotive division, responsible for all corporate functions of this $400 million transportation and logistics company.
Mr. Young received an M.S. - Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a B.S. - Marine Engineering from the United States Merchant Marine Academy.
Mr. Zinn focuses on corporate finance and securities investments. As managing director, established and developed the Mergers and Acquisitions offices of J.P. Morgan & Co. in London, Paris, Frankfurt, Milan and Tokyo. In 1982 he became head of Global Mergers and Acquisitions for J.P. Morgan & Co. He also managed the Swiss corporate finance business for Salomon Brothers International and was co-head of M&A for Blythe Eastman Paine Webber, now UBS (USA). Mr. Zinn holds a B.A. in Philosophy and Political Economics from Miami University, Ohio and an MBA from the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Gaehwiler has extensive management experience in abroad as General Manager of a world-wide investment portfolio in privately held businesses for a Swiss industrialist. Previously with Credit Suisse and Price Waterhouse Coopers, Mr. Gaehwiler has a Swiss CPA and an MBA from the University of St. Gallen.
Mr. Faes is a member of the boards of Bancomext, National Financiera, Infonavit and a past head of the Mexican national apparel federation. He has held several CEO positions in the textile industry. Mr. Faes has a Dpl. of Business Administration from the Instituto Tecnologico de Mexico.
